Who we are

We are the barely visible, rarely audible helpers of whom Mr. Rogers used to speak fondly of when recalling his mother's wisdom.  Rummaging through a hidden tragedy.

Children are dependents

Not property

It is time the law reflected this.

We are not here to take your rights away.  We are here to protect theirs.

When the rights of children can so easily be lost and forgotten, our most vulnerable citizens deserving of our protection most, can we really call ourselves civilized?  Who then falls prey to the authority meant to uphold our rights most?

We are scientists.  Authors.  Mothers.  Fathers.  Daughters.  Sons.  We are representatives of an evolved people that refuse to present ourselves as anything less.  We seek to protect those most vulnerable and damaged by legalized assaults, aggravated assaults, domestic violence and institutional abuse.

We aim to introduce a ban which would end legally sanctioned violence against children and promote the society we owe to ourselves.  This page discusses all of the myths, anecdotes and old wives tales that have left us blind.  We delve into the disturbing history of domestic corporal punishment and examine the scientific evidence and facts about short and long term harm no knowing parent would willingly sacrifice their child to.  We uncover the most common misconceptions such as the often cited biblical verses and identify the Supreme Law of the Lands true means.  We probe at the society we believe we live in, and look through a microscope where we actually stand.

Most importantly, we aim to help parents.  We do not think spankers or even many abusers are genuinely evil.  We as a people are in fact, however, misguided.

It is time to put ourselves and future generations to come on a positive path and correct ourselves of what we believed we deserved by giving up that which we did not.
